The “Seedling, Metabolism & Stress” team was created in January 2018 through the fusion of the former SESaN and MitoStress teams, bringing together geneticists, physiologists and biochemists. Multidisciplinary and multiscale approaches are used to study the mechanisms that contributes to efficient seedling emergence and establishment under environmental constraints. A better knowledge of physiology and genetic determinants underlying seedling vigour will help improving crop performance in the context of global climate change and sustainable agriculture.

The main expertises of the team are :

  • QTL and GWAS analyses
  • Metabolomics
  • Fluorescent microscopy
  • ROS metabolism
  • Nitrate assimilation and signalling
  • Mitochondrial biology and energy metabolism
  • LEA proteins
